Nice cafe with friendly and helpful staff. Food was good and worth leaving the highway to find. I can recommend the Reuben sandwich.

Whatta place for a burger---a Whatta burger to be exact, which is what I ordered and it was delightful! Friendly staff and nostalgic atmosphere. Will be visiting again!

We arrived at the Central City Cafe right before they were shutting down for 10 days for vacation, and because of that, they had not re-ordered some of their food. We really wanted to try the meat loaf, but we were sorry to hear they had run out. However, the cheeseburgers we had instead were REALLY good, loaded with cheese, and huge! The menu had a lot of great comfort foods, and we look forward to a return trip someday when they're fully stocked. Service was excellent, and no fewer than 3 people came to our table to be sure we were happy. This is a small casual place with great food and great people. Highly recommended!

I love this place. Homemade soups (five or six everyday), wonderful sandwiches and salads, and the staff is always amazing. If you're looking for a great, classic food, look no further.

Let me begin by saying this is one of the friendliest restaurants you'll ever go to! The food is mama and papa styled and it is delicious. The only problem with the restaurant would probably be the price but that is made back up with the hospitality you'll receive while you're there. When you're done finish it off with some nice homemade pie in this unique restaurant.

Loved this place! I went here for lunch with my wife. I had never been. I got the baked steak and it was absolutely perfect! I hadn't had baked steak that good since my grandmother was alive. The atmosphere is really good. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely eat here again. My only tiny issue was i found the prices to be a tad on the high side, but I am sure there is a reason for it.

All of the food is great. Owners and staff are courteous and very friendly. We have an antique shop across the street and are frequent diners in this establishment. Couldn't ask for a better place.

The meatloaf was good. Needed a bit more seasoning. The veg soup was ok. Too tomato-y. Waitress was pleasant but terse.

Good meatloaf dinner and the reuben sandwich was great (love the bread). Cornbread was good but dry and white bean soup was ok but needed more seasoning/flavor. Liked the orange slices in water!

Central City Cafe has been serving quality home cooked food for many many years. We have been coming here since the early 1990's. Their club sandwich is my favorite but they also serve dinners with baked steak, chicken & dumplings, home-cooked vegetables, etc. The owner and staff are very nice and friendly. We enjoy eating at Central City Cafe.

Such a wonderful place for a meal! BLT was stacked high, grilled cheese had multiple cheeses. Fruit cups were fresh with a delightful side dip. Fresh iced tea--unsweet--came with fresh orange slices.

It pays to listen to the locals when you are traveling. Stopped in for lunch. They had a lot of choices on the menu. I ordered a Whatta burger that was great. My wife had a Hawaiian burger that she thought was great as well. Nice little restaurant with very friendly and fast service. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I am so glad to see that they are still opened. My husband and I try to stop by when we go toLouisvile Ky and back home in Maryland.We called in a order for the Meatloaf and Apple pie on our way home on March 18, 2020,,:the beginning of Covid 19 shutdown . The owner and staff were so appreciative that we thought of them .Meatloaf is the best we have ever had. Apple pie was delicious.Support this family business fellow travelers.

Only OK. Family place open for 24 years. Featured on Triple D so long ago the menu and food has changed. The decor is homey, but the Reuben was skimpy on the a bit greasy and very thin meat. The waiter was super and so good he could make a fortune if he worked in an upscale place.

Delicious lunch with enough food for two people. Enchanting old building with a lot of history and food like you're Grandma used to make asking with fresh pies. One of Diners and Dives stops back in 2008.

They have excellent burgers.
